A True General Store

More than 50 years ago, the doors of Paul
Wilson Grocery
opened to the rural
community of Richland on the outskirts of
Seneca, SC.  From gas to groceries, boots to
bacon, and jewelry to canning jars, Paul's
store was
the place to come if you needed
anything.  More than anything, Paul wanted to
help folks in the community, and he never
missed an opportunity to do just that.

A Helping Hand...

Talking to folks that still remember the store you get the
sense that it really didn't matter what was on the shelves
from week to week at Paul's, what they remember the most
was the man behind the counter.  Whenever times got
tough, everybody knew they could depend on "Captain Paul"
to lend a helping hand.  In the years since he passed on,
countless people have come by to tell us story after story of
how Paul kept food on their tables or a little something
under the Christmas tree during those years when they just
didn't have enough to make ends meet.  True, Paul Wilson
Grocery wasn't the most lucrative business venture, but we
don't think Paul was too worried about that anyway.
A Family Tradition

Fast forward 50 years to 2010 and you'll find a store that looks a little different, but still
resonates with the helpful, neighborly attitude that Paul had all those years ago.  Passed
down from father to sons Jack and Robert, and then to grandchildren Connie James and
Gary Wilson, Wilson Processing Company, Inc. is still a staple of the community, not just
for Richland, but for the surrounding towns and counties.  The operation has expanded
to supply not only individuals, but restaurants, catering, and party supplies.
